Our client, a top banking client in Canada is looking to hire a Training Advisor for their team with a contract for 6 months with potential extension. This role is Hybrid (1-2 days a week and may be up to 4 days a week once a quarter) in Toronto office.

The IT Service Management (ITSM) department is the center of excellence responsible for Process, Governance, and operations of key ITSM practices globally.

Projects: They will be a part of an ongoing project which is based on ServiceNow transformation program.

Typical Day in Role:
Reporting to a Senior Manager, you will be responsible for identifying training needs, designing and delivering training programs, and evaluating their effectiveness. This role will work in partnership with ITSM Process Owners, Process Managers, and other functions across the bank.

Key responsibilities include developing training plans, developing engaging and diverse instructional materials.

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
  • 5+ years' demonstrated experience training and developing content.
  • Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods
  • Expert knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects
  • 5 years of advance technical skills with MS Suite: Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Word, Excel

Nice-To-Have Skills:
  • Spanish is an asset.
  • Banking/FI sector experience specifically in the IT Service management is nice to have.
  • create content & present to large audience.
  • Change Management initiatives and demonstrating an understanding of culture change.
  • Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods.

Soft Skills Required:
  • You possess excellent communication (verbal/written/presentation) skills to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • You can demonstrate the ability to balance multiple priorities; to build and maintain meaningful relationships with colleagues across a range of functions; to solve problems and navigate complex environments & to work well independently.
  • You can demonstrate strong organizational skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • You have a high degree of flexibility & adaptability to change in a large organization.
  • You have curiosity, a willingness to take on tasks outside of core responsibilities & comfortable working in a fast-paced/deadline-driven environment.

Education & Certificates:
  • You have completed a post-secondary education in Bachelor of Education or similar field.
  • Knowledge in the technology industry
  • Adult education certificate or PROSCI Certification is an asset.
