IFG Pittsburgh is actively recruiting a Senior tax Specialist to support partnership and investment-related tax compliance within a complex financial environment. The role serves as a key liaison between internal stakeholders and external tax advisors, coordinating tax reporting activities, reviewing partnership returns, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements. Success in this position requires a strong understanding of partnership taxation, including Forms 1065, K-1, K-2, and K-3 reporting, as well as the ability to analyze tax allocations, investor reporting, and entity-level transactions. The individual will collaborate closely with accounting, operations, and investment teams to gather and validate financial data while supporting new investments, restructuring activities, and other strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities of the Senior Tax Specialist 
  • Serve as the internal tax liaison for investment partnerships and entities, coordinating with external public accounting firms on federal, state, and local tax compliance.
  • Manage the collection, organization, and delivery of tax data, investment documentation, and supporting schedules to ensure timely return preparation.
  • Review partnership tax returns (Form 1065) and related state filings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with partnership agreements and tax regulations.
  • Perform detailed reviews of partnership allocations, K-1s, K-2s, K-3s, and investor reporting to validate tax treatment of income, expenses, contributions, and distributions.
  • Identify and resolve tax reporting discrepancies with external advisors while maintaining audit-ready workpapers and supporting documentation.
  • Support tax compliance and reporting for investment funds, partnerships, operating entities, and corporate filings, including Forms 1120 and 1099 reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with accounting, operations, and investment teams to gather financial data, provide tax guidance, and support entity formations, restructurings, and special projects.
  • Monitor multiple tax cycles and filing deadlines across numerous entities, ensuring all returns and related filings are completed accurately and on schedule.

Requirements of the Senior Tax Specialist 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
  • CPA Preferred
  • 5+ years of tax experience with a focus on partnership taxation; 1065, K1, K2, K3.
  • Background in public accounting or financial services/private investment/asset management environment
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong documentation and organizational skills
