Our client, a large energy organization, is seeking a Senior Crown Royalty Analyst for a temporary contract opportunity, with strong potential for extension.

This role is based in Calgary, AB and sits within the Operations Controllers team, focusing on Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) Royalty Accounting. The position works closely with finance, operations, and regulatory teams to ensure accurate royalty calculations, reporting, and compliance within the OSR Crown Royalty group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate and submit annual Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) royalty filings with the Saskatchewan Government
  • Perform variance analysis and interpret financial results across monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles
  • Provide insights and support on royalty-related matters to internal stakeholders
  • Contribute to process improvements and support ad hoc projects
Must-Have
  • Minimum 9 years of oil and gas accounting experience
  • Strong expertise in financial reporting including A/P, A/R, revenue, royalties, accruals, and variance analysis
  • Advanced SAP skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • Experience with Group Reporting, Power BI, Spotfire, and BW
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Deep understanding of oil and gas accounting, including operating, capital, and production accounting
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently
Nice-to-Have
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent)
  • Experience with SAGD operations
  • Knowledge of Saskatchewan Enhanced Oil Recovery royalty regulations
