Senior Credit Analyst – Energy / Counterparty Credit Risk

We are seeking a Senior Credit Analyst to manage counterparty credit exposures, conduct complex credit reviews, and support credit risk decisions within an energy trading environment. This is a contract position based in Calgary, Alberta, requiring strong experience across energy credit risk, physical and financial markets, and counterparty exposure management.

Key Responsibilities include the following;

• Monitor daily counterparty credit exposures, limits, and tenors
• Conduct complex credit reviews and recommend credit limits, ratings, and terms
• Analyze market intelligence and identify credit risks and mitigation strategies
• Maintain credit scoring models and support portfolio benchmarking
• Support contract/collateral negotiations and exposure monitoring
• Prepare daily, monthly, and quarterly credit reporting
• Partner with business teams on counterparty requests and deal structures
• Use ETRM systems and tools such as Power BI, Power Automate, and Databricks
   

Skills/qualifications required for the role include the following;

• 10+ years of relevant credit experience in the energy industry
• Strong understanding of physical and financial energy markets
• Extensive counterparty credit risk and exposure management experience
• Experience with complex credit reviews, credit limits, ratings, and risk mitigation
• Experience with quantitative credit scoring models and portfolio monitoring
• Experience with commodity trading / ETRM systems
• Strong financial and technical analytical skills
• Power BI, Power Automate, and/or Databricks experience is an asset
• CFA designation is an asset
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
   

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, or related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
