We are seeking a Sr. Business Analyst to join a Project Delivery, Modernization, and Enablement team supporting strategic enterprise initiatives within a fast-paced banking and payments environment.

This is a hybrid role requiring 2 days onsite per week in Downtown Toronto.

Duration: 5-month contract with potential for further extension.

The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end business analysis activities including stakeholder engagement, requirements gathering, process analysis, documentation, testing support, risk mitigation, communication management, and project coordination. This role will work closely with business partners, technology teams, and project stakeholders to support the successful delivery of strategic programs and modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements
  • Assess current state processes and help define target state roadmaps
  • Create detailed process flows, business requirements, and project documentation
  • Support project delivery activities including testing, implementation, risk tracking, and change management
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones and deliverables are completed on time
  • Develop presentations, status updates, and project communications for stakeholders and leadership teams
  • Maintain project plans, risks, actions, issues, and decision logs
  • Support business implementation and user acceptance activities

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Business Analyst experience including banking experience
  • 5+ years of experience working with Jira
  • 2+ years of payments experience
  • Experience with SQL and Power BI reporting
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
  • Experience working on large-scale enterprise projects within fast-paced environments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Banking or financial services experience
  • Knowledge of front-office/back-office operations and payment processes
  • Experience with payment rails, cross-border payments, cards, wires, or Interac
  • Experience with process reengineering and change management initiatives
  • AI exposure or knowledge is considered an asset
