Our client, a top banking client in Canada is looking to hire a Project Manager - Data Governance role for their team with a contract of 12 months which is renewable. This role 2 days a week in the office for their Toronto office.
  • Project Management:
  • Manage and monitor project costs using the Project Finance Management Tool and Project Management Tool.
  • Provide project financial updates to key stakeholders, including the Steering Committee and CM Data Governance Council.
  • Plan and forecast annual budgets, resource allocations, and technology-related expenses.
  • Maintain and update the 3-year program roadmap, mid-level project plan, and JIRA tickets.
  • Follow up on critical deliverables to ensure key milestones are met.
  • Organize planning sessions for short-term and long-term project priorities.
  • Develop and provide project status updates for weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly review forums.
  • Coordinate the development of materials for the bi-monthly Data Governance Council.
  • Manage relationships with Technology Leads and the Enterprise Data Office.
  • Handle vendor management, demos, and PoCs.
  • Business Analysis:
  • Coordinate Data Governance Training and attestations for Data Holders.
  • Submit Data Metrics to the Enterprise Data Office.
  • Support Change Managers in assessing data risk and governance impacts.
  • Perform Current State Analysis and Business Process Analysis for data-related controls and documentation.
Must have skills:
  • Strong Data Background, with exposure to:
  • Metadata Management
  • Data Quality Assessment
  • Data Issue Management
  • Data Access Management
Experience in Capital Markets (Front Office Preferred). Proficiency in JIRA and Agile methodologies. Experience developing business cases & roadmaps. 3+ years as a Business Analyst in a Data Governance environment. 2+ years as a Project Manager. Familiarity with Enterprise Project Software and Portfolio Management Tools. Experience with large financial environments, including process & system changes. Exposure to data-centric change initiatives (data governance, data management, migration, transformation, analysis, insights). Nice to have skills:
  • Experience managing project financials.
  • Knowledge of foreign & domestic financial regulations.
  • Strong understanding of Capital Markets products and trade lifecycle.
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders of varying seniority and technical expertise.
