IFG Pittsburgh is actively recruiting a Payroll Director responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll operations for an international company.  The Payroll Director will develop and execute the global payroll strategy ensuring alignment with company objectives and compliance requirements while ensuring accurate and timely processing for multiple countries.  Additionally, the Payroll Director will be responsible for providing strategic direction, managing and directing day-to-day operations, auditing staff transactions, supporting professional development, facilitating issues, and ensuring compliance with wage and hour laws, and federal, state, and local tax regulations.

Responsibilities of the Payroll Director
  • Develop and execute global payroll strategy aligned with business goals, compliance, and operational needs across multiple countries and regions.
  • Oversee end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring accurate, timely payroll processing, including tax calculations, withholdings, W-2 processing, and year-end reporting.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with payroll vendors, auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory agencies for both domestic and international payroll matters.
  • Lead payroll-related projects, including new entity integrations, system implementations, and process improvements to enhance scalability and efficiency.
  • Provide strategic guidance and subject matter expertise to leadership on payroll policies, compliance, and operations.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, Legal, and IT to streamline processes and improve data integration.
  • Drive continuous process improvement, leveraging KPIs, reporting, and analytics to enhance operational performance and cost efficiency.
  • Manage audits and ensure strong internal controls, including root cause analysis and timely remediation.
  • Build and lead a high-performing global payroll team, fostering accountability, development, and alignment with organizational goals.

Requirements of the Payroll Director
  • 10+ years of experience required
  • A Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred
  • A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent attention-to-detail, time-management, work ethic, and customer service skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure, while maintaining flexibility through changing priorities and demanding timelines
  • Strong leadership skills
