Our client, a renowned organization located in downtown Toronto, is looking to hire a Payroll Administrator for an initial 6-month contract, with the option to extend for up to an additional 6-7 months.

***This is a hybrid role requiring the successful candidate to work in office four (4) days per week

As the Payroll Administrator, your focus will be on day-to-day Payroll Operations and system support. You will oversee payroll processing, verify transactions completed by Payroll Clerks, provide technical guidance on payroll and HRIS systems, and act as a liaison between payroll and system support teams. You will also support payroll accounting, reconciliations, audits, reporting, system testing, and year-end activities including T4/T4A processing.

To be considered for this role, our client is looking for someone with the following skills and qualifications;
  • Strong experience with complex payroll, benefits, and payroll accounting
  • Knowledge of payroll legislation, collective agreements, policies, and procedures
  • Intermediate accounting skills including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and cost reallocations
  • Experience performing payroll audits, system testing, and process improvements
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, judgment, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication, organization, time management, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook)
