Operational Risk Analyst

Our client, a top 5 banks in Canada, is looking for an Operational Risk Analyst to fill a 3-month contract located in downtown Toronto. This role is 1-2 days in office. This contract has a possibility of extension or conversion.

As an Operational Risk Analyst your duties will include but not be limited to:

• Collaborate with the Director to lead the design, implementation, and enhancement of a comprehensive enterprise risk taxonomy, focusing on data analysis and interpretation to drive consistent risk management across the Bank.
• Engage with various stakeholders and senior management within risk groups to evaluate the implications of identified risks on system processes and reporting, fostering effective risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for the bank-wide adoption of the newly designed risk taxonomy, ensuring a seamless integration of the taxonomy framework into the organization's risk management practices.
• Undertake specialized projects and investigations aligned with enterprise risk, responding to directives from the Director and senior management, while applying insightful analysis to drive informed decision-making.
• Play a pivotal role in championing a customer-centric culture, fostering a high-performance environment, and promoting inclusivity, while also leveraging an in-depth understanding of the Bank's risk appetite and culture to inform daily operational activities and choices.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in risk management within Financial Industry.
• 1+ years of experience with Data Analytics.
• Experience working and or managing a project.
• Strong proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups) and other MS products (Word, PPT).

Nice-To-Have Skills:

• Professional accounting designation (CPA), CFA, or MBA
• MS Project, Visio, SharePoint, Power BI
