Our client, a major financial institution in Canada is looking to hire a Financial Analyst for a 6-month contract. This role is hybrid with 2 days in downtown Toronto.

You will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Execute timely completion of real estate financial activities, including journal entries and reconciliations, while preparing comprehensive reports for internal and executive review.
  • Develop and maintain robust financial models to forecast real estate expenses, supporting informed decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Conduct thorough trend analysis, identifying and analyzing variances to mitigate financial risks and capitalize on opportunities, while providing insights into potential scenarios.
  • Foster strong working relationships with internal real estate teams, external service providers, and cross-functional business units to ensure effective communication and alignment on financial objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency in financial processes, ensuring adherence to established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Execute operational and SOX controls, maintaining detailed and accurate documentation for audit support, while actively participating in control testing and process documentation efforts.

Must have skills:
  • 3 to 5 years of accounting experience in a medium to large financial services institution. Ideally within real estate.
  • Strong computer skills; proficient with Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and internal accounting policies.
  • Undergraduate degree in business or a technical discipline.

Nice-To-Have Skills:
  • Real estate experience within FI.
  • Accounting designation preferred (CMA/CGA/CA).
  • Alteryx or Tableau experience.
