Our client, a large energy producer in Canada, is looking to add a Financial Analyst to their team for an initial 1 year contract. This role is hybrid in Calgary.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Monthly accounting and reconciliation for light oil refined products.
  • Compile and present Performance Measurement Reporting.
  • Conduct variance analysis against budget and forecast.
  • Support planning, budgeting, and ERP budget recording.
  • Provide commentary on commodity trading results.
  • Drive back-office process changes and improvements.
  • Assist in month-end close and post-divestiture strategy implementation.
  • Identify and manage operational risks in Downstream accounting.
Qualifications
  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Successful completion of a recognized accounting designation (CPA/CA)
  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience as a Financial Analyst.
  • Strong preference for candidates with a background in the Oil and Gas industry
  • Proficient in SAP
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including skills in pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and formulas
