Our client, a leading Financial Institution, and they are seeking a Director to join their Financial Regulatory Reporting group, with a focus on Legal Entity Reporting for Canadian operations. This high-visibility role is responsible for the accuracy and completeness of legal entity financial statements and intercompany consolidation, as part of a renewed enterprise-wide focus on regulatory and financial reporting compliance.

The Key Responsibilities include the following; 

  • Lead the preparation of legal entity financial statements for Canadian entities

  • Oversee intercompany consolidation processes and ensure compliance with regulatory standards

  • Deliver regular presentations and updates to senior executives and key stakeholders

  • Provide leadership to a team of two direct reports (Managers), ensuring alignment with reporting deadlines and quality standards

  • Manage and support special projects and ad hoc reporting initiatives across the group

  • Maintain and enhance existing reporting processes, with a focus on operational efficiency, accuracy, and scalability

  • Play a key role in identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives, including the integration of automation and AI tools into the financial reporting cycle

To be considered for this role, our client is looking for someone with the following skills/qualifications;

  • CPA designation is required

  • Experience in external audit (preferably from a public accounting firm)

  • Financial reporting experience within a bank or financial institution

  • Generalist knowledge of capital markets products

  • Demonstrated project management experience and ability to lead cross-functional initiatives

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging senior leadership
