Responsibilities of the Controller
- Lead all core accounting functions, including general ledger management, month-end close, financial statement preparation, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Produce and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring full compliance with GAAP and internal policies
- Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls, accounting procedures, and process improvements
- Partner with executive leadership to support strategic planning through budgeting, forecasting, KPI reporting, and financial modeling
- Provide variance analysis and actionable insights to drive operational performance and business decision-making
- Oversee cash flow, liquidity planning, banking relationships, and treasury operations, including financing activities
- Manage AP, AR, payroll, and invoicing functions to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance
- Coordinate with external auditors and advisors while supporting cost management, project profitability analysis, and overall financial accountability
Requirements of the Controller
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
- Advanced certifications (e.g., CPA or CPA-track) preferred
- Five (5) plus years of progressive accounting management experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
