Overview
Our client, one of Canada's leading banks, is looking for a Business Systems Analyst to join their Capital Markets Technology team. This role will support regulatory trade reporting initiatives and enhancements to trading applications, working closely with business and technology teams to deliver scalable solutions for OTC derivatives and trade lifecycle management.
Contract: 6 months (strong potential for permanent conversion)
Hybrid: 1 day onsite per week
Location: Toronto, ON
Key Responsibilities
o             Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
o             Support trade reporting regulatory projects and trading application enhancements.
o             Create user stories, BRDs, FRDs, data mappings, and acceptance criteria.
o             Collaborate with business, development, QA, and project teams to deliver technology solutions.
o             Perform SQL-based data analysis and validate data transformations.
o             Support UAT planning, testing, defect resolution, and production issue analysis.
o             Assist with solution design, API integrations, and process improvements.
o             Communicate project updates and collaborate with stakeholders across Capital Markets.

Must-Have Skills
o             2-3 years of Business Systems Analyst experience within Capital Markets.
o             Strong understanding of OTC derivatives and the trade lifecycle.
o             Hands-on experience with SQL and advanced Excel.
o             Experience with data mapping and data validation.
o             Requirements gathering and documentation (User Stories, BRDs, FRDs).
o             Experience supporting UAT, test scenarios, and acceptance criteria.
o             Production support, issue investigation, and impact analysis.
o             Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
o             Experience working within a financial institution or Capital Markets environment.

Nice-to-Have Skills
o             Knowledge of FpML, FIX, REST APIs, and JSON.
o             Python for data analysis.
o             Experience with Murex or Calypso.
o             Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools.
o             Agile (Scrum/Kanban), Jira, and Confluence
Knowledge of regulatory reporting frameworks such as Dodd-Frank, EMIR, MiFID II, UMR, or DTCC.
