Our client, a financial institution, is looking to hire a Business Analyst, Customer Insights, on a 6 month contract with possibility for extension/convert to full time. This position is hybrid 2 days in office.
 
Responsibilities include:
 
  • Provide Support for Data Investigation Intake and Assessment
  • Manage Data Investigation Projects
  • Collect, document, and secure endorsement of business requirements from key stakeholders
  • Analyze intricate datasets (drawn from various structured and unstructured sources) to explore issues, evaluate financial implications, and offer recommendations.
  • Cultivate Relationships
  • Execute Risk Management and Control Measures
  • Leadership and Relationship Management
    • Collaborate with analytics teams and business subject matter experts to refine comprehension and ensure uniformity in data analysis.
    • Establish and communicate standards for precise business requirements, technical specifications, and workflow documentation.
    • Engage with business partners to fulfill their needs, deliver timely updates on project progress, and provide clear insights.
    • Utilize consultative skills and best-practice knowledge to guide partners through insightful data-driven recommendations. Use these sessions to identify areas for further exploration, development, or prioritization.
    • Deliver results to partners within tight deadlines, consistently exceeding their expectations.
  • Risk Management
    • Ensure analysis aligns with governance and risk policies, identifying opportunities and solutions for ongoing enhancement.
  • Cross-Functional Relationships
    • Managers and Senior Managers of Line of Business, including:
      • Analytics Centre of Excellence and its associated teams
      • Canadian P & C Product groups
      • Technology and Operations teams
 
To be considered for this role, our client is looking for someone with the following skills/qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Statistics, Quantitative methods, Mathematics, Computer Science, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Solid understanding of data and analytics.
  • Proficient in extracting data from various sources and crafting comprehensive, actionable reports.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to identify patterns to establish hypotheses.
  • Prior experience in the banking or financial industry is highly advantageous.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with SAS EG coding is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), capable of delivering concise, clear reports, actionable analyses, and presentations.
  • Ability to engage with individuals across all organizational levels and technical backgrounds.
  • Preferred experience in data visualization, including proficiency in visualization tools such as Power BI, Microsoft Reporting Services, Spotfire, or Tableau.
  • Technical proficiency in analytical software and business applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
