Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager
- Lead month-end close, ensuring GAAP compliance and accurate, timely financial reporting and analysis
- Review and validate general ledger data; ensure accuracy and usability of financial systems
- Serve as primary liaison with auditors, public accountants, and external financial stakeholders
- Support financial leadership in strategic planning, goal setting, and execution initiatives
- Assist with budgeting, financial oversight, and adherence to regulatory and procedural standards
- Develop and enforce financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Manage, train, and evaluate staff; support hiring and performance management
- Escalate key financial insights and risks to executive leadership
- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and financial accuracy
Requirements of the Accounting Manager
- Bachelor's Degree in business administration, finance, accounting or related field
- CPA preferred
- Seven (7) plus years of corporate accounting experience coupled with management/leadership experience
- Detailed knowledge and experience in preparing complex accounting reports and problem resolution
- Experience managing and reconciling working capital accounts
- Intermediate Excel (pivots, lookups) and PowerPoint required
- Willingness to be a hand-on, working leader
