The Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role in our growing public technology company, focusing primarily on month-end reporting and close processes. This includes balance sheet reconciliations, audit support, amortization schedules, and some variance analysis. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in public accounting and be looking to transition into Industry. A CPA designation is required.
This role is Hybrid and is in the office 2 days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Month-End Close and Reporting:
    • Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
    • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and other necessary adjustments.
    • Complete and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all accounts are accurately reconciled and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS.
    • Prepare detailed supporting schedules and documentation for financial statements.
  • Audit Support:
    • Provide support for both internal and external audits, including preparing audit schedules and responding to audit inquiries.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Amortization Schedules:
    • Prepare and maintain amortization schedules for intangible assets, prepaid expenses, and other relevant accounts.
    • Ensure that all schedules are updated regularly and reflect accurate financial information.
  • Variance Analysis:
    • Conduct limited analysis of financial results, focusing on key variances between actuals and budget/forecast.
    • Provide insights and explanations for variances, supporting management decision-making.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of month-end close and reporting.
    • Stay current with industry trends and best practices to bring innovative solutions to the finance team.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Certification: CPA designation required.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in public accounting, with a strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting.
