This role is Hybrid and is in the office 2 days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Month-End Close and Reporting:
- Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and other necessary adjustments.
- Complete and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all accounts are accurately reconciled and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
- Financial Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS.
- Prepare detailed supporting schedules and documentation for financial statements.
- Audit Support:
- Provide support for both internal and external audits, including preparing audit schedules and responding to audit inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant internal controls and accounting policies.
- Amortization Schedules:
- Prepare and maintain amortization schedules for intangible assets, prepaid expenses, and other relevant accounts.
- Ensure that all schedules are updated regularly and reflect accurate financial information.
- Variance Analysis:
- Conduct limited analysis of financial results, focusing on key variances between actuals and budget/forecast.
- Provide insights and explanations for variances, supporting management decision-making.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of month-end close and reporting.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices to bring innovative solutions to the finance team.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Certification: CPA designation required.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in public accounting, with a strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting.
