Senior Accountant

Our client, an industry leader in the manufacturing sector, requires a Senior Accountant on a full time permanent basis. This role will be responsible for plant accounting as well as analysis.  This role involves frequent interactions with the Corporate office and Operations. You must have strong accounting theory along with practical skills and you have preferably worked in a standard cost environment. 

As the Senior Accountant, your responsibilities include the following; 

• Ownership of the P/L and Balance Sheet accounts for the plants
• Month end/quarter end and year end close duties including journal entries and accruals
• Monthly variance analysis and forecasts 
• Daily/monthly and quarterly reporting 
• Ensure financial statements and related analysis are produced in accordance with corporate policy and accounting principles

To be considered for this role, our client is looking for someone with the following skills/qualifications: 

• CPA designation (or close to completion)
• At least 5 years of related experience within manufacturing and plant level
• Having gone through a SAP implementation is a very big asset
• Experience in a standard cost environment is a nice to have
