IFG Pittsburgh is actively recruiting a Payroll Specialist that will work with various payroll systems, tax regulations, and with sensitive and confidential information on a daily basis. This position works under direction of the Payroll Leader, to ensure timely processing of employee pay information, and compliance on internal processes as well as various state laws and regulations.

Responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist
  • Process payroll weekly and bi-weekly hourly and salary employees.
  • Performs payroll reconciliation to identify issues with payroll systems and information.
  • Performs daily and weekly audit of incoming payroll information for data integrity.
  • Prepares payroll reports from HRIS and timekeeping systems on a regular basis.
  • Provides answers to employee questions and investigates discrepancies in a timely manner.

Requirements of the Payroll Specialist
  • 3+ years payroll experience
  • Process payroll for both salary, hourly and union employees
  • Understanding of general payroll practices to include deductions, benefits, garnishments, taxation, and reporting
  • High attention to detail with proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel with ability to use of formulas, pivot tables, etc
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be detail oriented and work well under pressure to meet deadlines
