IFG Pittsburgh is actively recruiting an Accounts Payable Associate to perform full cycle accounts payable.  The position will process approximately 250 checks on a weekly basis.  Payments are made via ACH and physical checks.  In addition to accounts payable, there will also be administrative tasks to include filing and placing checks in envelopes. 

Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Associate
  • Code invoices using the general ledger chart of accounts to charge expenses to the proper account and cost center by analyzing invoices and/or expense reports for accuracy.
  • Ensures invoices have the proper approval(s), account coding, payment amounts, discount periods are utilized, and financial data is verified so the organization's obligations are satisfied accurately and within established time frames.
  • Prepares and enters invoices and check requests for payments.
  • Processes repetitive invoices on a monthly basis.
  • Folds, stuffs and mails payments after check runs.
  • Collate check copies, invoices and supporting documentation for filing.
  • Research vendor statements, analyze vendor history, and resolves discrepancies when needed.
  • Responds courteously to inquiries related to invoices and payments.
  • Sets up, organizes, and maintains files for checks, invoices, payments, vendors, packing slips and other related AP filing. 

Requirements of the Accounts Payable Associate
  • Associates degree preferred but not required
  • Minimum two years' experience in Accounts Payable
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong Data Entry skills with an attention to detail
  • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Excel and Word
