Responsibilities
- Record investment activity in GL on a statutory and GAAP basis, and perform investment reconciliations, including suspense reconciliation
- On a quarterly basis, prepare statutory investment note disclosures, review schedule D NAIC uploads, and provide investment support for GAAP reporting
- Review investment analytics monthly to ensure proper recording of balances
- Keep updated on new GAAP and STAT pronouncements that affect investment accounting and reporting; maintain documentation of updates
- Provide external audit team with information, per their interim and year-end requests, and prepare audit report investment disclosures
- 2-4 years' experience in statutory insurance investments preferred
- Basic understanding of insurance company operations
- GL, reconciliation, financial analysis, and journal entry experience required
- Exceptional prioritization and time management ability with a sense of urgency to deal with the pressures of meeting regulatory deadlines required
- Experience with annual statement software (E-Freedom), and G/L system (Oracle) preferred
- Able to work independently and collaboratively with a team required
- Identify & implement projects to increase efficiency & precision required
