As a Senior Corporate Accountant, you will manage a variety of accounting functions, including the consolidation of financial statements, balance sheet reviews, and review of financial statements for multiple corporate departments, variance analyses, account reconciliations, accurate and timely recording of journal entries. This position serves as the key contact for corporate department managers.
Responsibilities:
- Record accruals, amortization and other corporate monthly journal entries.
- Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations for corporate balance sheet accounts and resolve account discrepancies.
- Analyze and prepare timely and accurate corporate monthly, quarterly and accrual financial statements, management reports and departmental reports.
- Develop variance analysis with respect to budgets and forecasts.
- Prepare quarterly and annual schedules to support the financial statements used in public reporting.
- Prepare consolidated balance sheet and ensure account reconciliations are completed and reviewed.
- Maintain the corporate close calendar and checklist, and lead staff in day-to-day corporate accounting processes.
- Assist corporate personnel, answer questions and describe processes as necessary.
- Ensure the application of company financial policies and procedures, and assist documentation of processes.
- Gather and review records for internal audits.
- Develop, maintain and recommend policies and procedures to improve the efficiency, accuracy and completion of financial reports and reconciliations.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of accounting experience.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience completing balance sheet reconciliations and analyzing income statements.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business correspondence and periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers and the general public.
- Strong knowledge of fundamental math and calculation concepts.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to perform complex processing and spreadsheet data entry.
- Strong communications, leadership, organizational, time management and project management skills.
