Our client is a Publicly listed Real Estate / Development Company and they are looking to add a Corporate Accountant to their team for an initial contract duration of 6 months.  There is a very strong likelihood this will get extended much longer.  The role is a backfill role for an internal employee seconded onto a project.  If you are a CPA with deep hands on public company reporting experience, let us know!

As the Corporate Accountant you will report to the Controller.  You will be responsible for a variety of aspects of corporate accounting focused on public company reporting. 

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
  • Management of corporate expenses, revenue, budgets, expenses allocation, tax and Statistics Canada Reporting
  • Prepare and review monthly and quarterly consolidated financial statements
  • Review of balance sheet reconciliations, preparation of quarterly schedules, support the coordination of external audit requests, etc.
  • Process improvements and development of junior staff
To be considered for this role, our client is looking for someone with the following skills/qualifications;
  • CPA with 5+ years experience - preference for real estate/development industry experience.
  • Proven experience to both manage professional staff and be hands on execution oriented to get work done
  • Systems savvy [ERP/Excel/etc.]
**Note this is a hybrid role with 2-3 days per week in office
