IFG Pittsburgh is actively recruiting a Senior Cost Analyst responsible for product costing activities and month-end close functions in accordance with GAAP.  The Senior Cost Analyst will interact with plant, commercial sales personnel, and operations leaders in the preparation of product costing actives, and internal control and SOx compliance.

Responsibilities of the Senior Cost Analyst
  • Serve as a key player with the monthly closing process including journal entries, account analysis and reconciliations.
  • Perform inventory and product cost development and analysis.
  • Coordination of physical inventories and reconciliations for Tax filings.
  • Responsible for fixed asset accounting.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis of business trends, scenario planning, special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Reconciliation of specific asset and liability accounts.
  • Preparation and posting of journal entries to the general ledger.
  • Perform sales tax analysis and record the appropriate accruals. 

Requirements of the Senior Cost Analyst
  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a closely related field required
  • Knowledge and understanding of fundamental cost accounting principles
  • Large ERP experience preferred
  • Experience in physical inventory planning and reconciliation
  • Intermediate to advanced user of Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently, or in a group setting, on assigned projects
  • Ability to analyze problems and present resolutions
