IFG Pittsburgh is actively recruiting a Senior Accountant responsible for assisting in all aspects of the accounting department including general ledger, financial reporting, monthly closing, reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, claims posting and regulatory filings. These responsibilities include but is not limited; monthly review of financial statements, monthly revenue draw from the government system, quarterly and annual reports, annual budgets, and regular meetings with programs to review the actual to budget analysis.     

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant
  • Perform month/quarter/year end close and associated financial reporting.
  • Assist in producing timely, accurate, and GAAP compliant financial results.
  • Ensure completion of required internal and external reports and schedules.
  • Complete reconciliations and provide audit support.
  • Support variance analyses of actual versus budget, forecast and prior year financials.
  • Provide support on all areas of accounting including lease accounting, food service, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, claims posting, claims investigation and maintain internal controls.
  • Provide assistance or manage a variety of ad hoc initiatives including financial systems improvements, budgeting, and reporting on grant initiatives, coordinating collections, process enhancements, accounting structures for new program models/relationships and reconciliations.
  • Assist in completing monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages
  • Board communication and reporting

Requirements of the Accounting Assistant
  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a closely related field required
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting department
  • Not for Profit experience highly preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in complex Excel-based financial modeling
  • Strong analytical abilities and results orientation
  • Proficient in active communication and solid interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills, project/task management experience and cross-functional coordination skills
