JOB SUMMARY
The Accounting Manager role is responsible for leading the accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll functions of the company. Responsibilities also include establishing and maintaining internal controls intended to enhance the precision of reported financial outcomes, mitigate risks, and ensure that reported results comply with financial reporting standards and GAAP accounting principles in the United States.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide quality assurance, oversight and management of A/P, A/R, and payroll
- Troubleshoot daily transaction issues
- Ensure proper accruals are recorded at month end
- Ensure proper accounting of prepaid balances
- Preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations
- Audit support
- Manage invoice discrepancies and aged vouchers payable for timely resolution
- Continuously develop, evaluate and document operational and accounting policies and procedures to ensure strong efficient controls exist and that we strive for continual process improvement
- Support post-acquisition accounting integration for new units
- Other ad hoc projects as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective action
- Maximize payroll efficiency through innovative process development
- Help develop and support short and long-term operational strategies
- Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity
QUALIFICATIONS
- BS/BA in Accounting or Finance
- 7-10 years progressive accounting/finance experience
- C.P.A. certification is preferred
- Strong analytical and reasoning skills to interpret complex documents and financial information, strong time management and organizational skills to meet multiple deadlines, a high degree of accuracy in work products
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate complex business issues in a clear and concise manner
- Demonstrated PC and software skills, familiarity with financial computer programs including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, QuickBooks, and the use of vendor web portals.
