IFG's client, a high-growth investment management firm located in Chicago, is looking for a Valuation Associate to join its dynamic and rapidly growing team in Chicago.
Today, the firm manages over $2B of investor capital across various related verticals with office locations in NYC and Chicago. Due to the firm’s dynamic and forward-thinking approach, the capital commitments have tripled in the past three years. Today, it manages just under $4B of real assets.

The Valuation Associate is a critical member of the team, responsible for working with all members of the firm and the various vertical leaders to help analyze and manage the process of evaluating and valuing all of the firm’s assets and investments.

  • Perform valuation analyses on a wide range of assets and private entities within the various industries.
  • Conduct market research on factors that could affect a company’s value including economic trends, industry dynamics, and competitor activity
  • Identifying risks associated with investment opportunities such as market volatility and interest rate fluctuations
  • Prepare and present the results of our analysis in a clear and concise manner
  • Assisting with updating valuation templates each quarter, including discounted cash flow (DCF), performance multiple (PM) and other valuation models
  • Compiling documentation to support actual financial and company comparable assumptions used in the valuation models
  • Assessing underlying assumptions used to develop DCF, performance multiples, and other valuations
  • Maintaining, preparing and analyzing summary valuation and performance schedules
  • Participating in discussions with and provide deliverables to various constituents, including Deal Analysts, Investor Relations, and Senior Management as well as External and Internal Audit groups
  • Updating quarterly planning models to reflect actual performance, and roll future cash flows. Completing variance analyses
  • Assessing value creation drivers that have contributed to changes in valuations over the holding period of each investment
  • Assisting in enhancing the group’s reporting processes, procedures and analytics
  • Participating in various group initiatives and projects.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Understanding of the investment management business, multiple asset classes, pricing and valuation techniques
  • Proficiency at financial modeling with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Superior research, analytical, verbal comprehension, and communication skills
  • 3 to 5 years of related business valuation experience at a Big 4 Accounting Firm
  • Knowledgeable and able to apply existing fair value concepts consistent with ASC 820, Fair Value Measurement
  • B.A. or B.S. in Accounting, Economics, Finance or Mathematics
