Interim Senior Accountant for a contract role

Job Description Summary:

The Senior Accountant will assure the accuracy of the P&L and Balance Sheet results, report results, and make business recommendations based on analysis.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee international subsidiary reporting and communicate with subsidiary employees to resolve issues as they arise or are identified.
  • Review and maintain the accuracy and integrity of our subsidiaries general ledgers
  • Review our subsidiaries financial statements and assure they are GAAP compliant.
  • Translate the subsidiaries financial statements into U.S. Dollar and consolidate results; provide explanations for significant period variances.
  • Perform inventory reconciliation between our system and subsidiaries and explain variances impact on profitability.
  • Perform financial analysis on certain areas including international revenue, COGS and margin analysis.
  • Prepare monthly cash flow analysis and forecast.
  • Make recommendations on necessary accruals as they arise.
  • Develop, document, implement, and maintain an effective system of internal controls.
  • Assist in US Operations reporting like sales analysis summary, semimonthly labor reporting, scrap, E&O, rebates and incentives as well as reclassifications, reconciliations and accruals for month end.
  • Schedules and journal entries required for month end close
  • Assist in yearly statutory audit preparing PBC’s, schedules and supporting documentation for all our subsidiaries.
  • Assist in performing the annual physical inventory.
  • Coordinate subsidiary expense report approval and payment .
  • Assist other department staff with urgent projects as directed by Accounting Manager.
  • Report to Accounting Manager issues that require additional attention or treatment as they are identified.

Requirements            

  • BS in Accounting or Finance
  • 2+ years of accounting experience (preferably in manufacturing)
  • Experience with an ERP software system
  • Understanding of the processes and flow in an efficient and productive accounting environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced Excel required
