IFG's client, located in the western suburbs, is seeking an Accounting Assistant.  This individual will assist the Accounting department in carrying out various tasks.

General Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Create Excel reports as needed for team members and management
  • Cost various jobs (job costing)
  • Organize files and manage spreadsheets for a paperless department
  • Assist with payment details of external service providers, contractors and vendors as needed
  • Collaborate with accounting team members to successfully execute various accounting tasks
  • Administer work tasks with accounts payable specialist for timely processing as needed
  • Conduct research in general ledger as needed
  • Process mail for the Accounting department
  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications/Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, business, or related field preferred
  • Accounting or similar experience is preferred, including internships, summer roles, etc.
  • Ability to build rapport with employees
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate to advanced computer literacy, including word processing and spreadsheets
  • Ability to work well under deadlines and respond to changes in priorities
  • Attention to detail and experience handling sensitive and confidential information
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently, take initiative, and see projects through to completion

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Previous experience with accounting and administration
  • Excel and Microsoft Office suite, Sage software is a plus
