Our client, a large insurance company, is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst for a 7-month contract located in Toronto.  This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Financial Analyst with a financial services background 

As a Senior Financial Analyst your duties will include but not be limited to: 

  • Financial Analysis and Invoice Processing - functioning as primary point person for converting manual invoice processing to an automated process

  • Administering and maintaining a tracking system in adherence with reporting guidelines to ensure that all invoices and other financial data received are monitored from submission to payment and ensuring that business and operational reports are readily available

  • Ensuring timely payments, including coding cost center and GL account, checking invoices are billed to the appropriate legal entity, and are issued according to A/P process policies

  • Risk Management, Operational Effectiveness, and Controls - performing business/situational analyses, identifying and developing business process improvement and controls to support business decisions and mitigate risks

  • Interact regularly with team members and LOB members to collect information to accomplish administrative and operational tasks

Qualifications required for the Senior Financial Analyst include:  

  • Requires 3 - 5 years of experience in a professional support function in a fast paced environment, dealing with moderately complex issues and managing conflicting priorities.

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field

  • Knowledge of banking financial processing standards, key business processes, and a very good working knowledge of project management methodologies, and human resources policy

  • Ability to organize moderate amounts of business information and develop it into cohesive, professional reports and presentations with little guidance.

  • Ability to analyze relevant alternatives and create a rational recommendation to support business decision-making; ability to plan and coordinate implementation of the selected alternative

  • Detail oriented, extremely well organized, and able to manage time and multi-task conflicting priorities and timelines.

  • Advanced level PC skills (MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; Visio is preferred)
