IFG's high growth, start up client in the West Loop is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their growing team. The company is an international distributor of consumer product goods. Their office is in downtown Chicago. This is a very fast paced, entrepreneurial environment with tons of room to grow.

Senior Accountant


  • Perform month-end close steps in accordance with company policy to ensure timely financial reporting, identification of exceptions and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Develop and document appropriate processes working closely with the VP of Finance
  • Prepare and discuss monthly financial KPIs with the leadership team
  • Manage general ledger conversion from Quickbooks to NetSuite or similar ERP in 2022
  • Create monthly, quarterly and annual management reporting including dashboard reporting and present findings and recommendations to the leadership team
  • Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice
  • Consolidate financial statements including currency translation adjustments
  • Continuously improve accounting department efficiencies, making use of current technology
  • Perform steps necessary for processing customer sales orders in Salesforce and the accounting system and ensure sync between Salesforce and the accounting system is working accurately
  • Enter and process incoming and outgoing payments, ensuring prepaid customer and supplier accounts are reconciled and kept up to date
  • Manage accounts receivables and accounts payables through proactive identification of issues, effective communication and timely action
  • Prepare weekly cash forecast and discuss with VP of Finance
  • Maintain inventory records and reconcile inventory in the accounting system with warehouse records on a weekly basis


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Master’s Degree in Accounting or the CPA designation (completed or currently pursuing) is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience working in the Finance team of a mid-sized business
  • Experience using QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, or similar accounting systems is a must
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel is an absolute must
  • Experience dealing with sales tax, use tax and 1099 reporting is a strong plus
  • Self-motivated professional, well-organized and must enjoy taking ownership
  • Goal oriented and willing to go the extra mile to meet deadlines
  • Experience in CPG and inventory management experience is a strong plus
  • Must demonstrate a track record of growth in learning and taking on greater responsibility
