Job Summary

Newly created position reports to the Accounting Manager, International, and will be key team member in month end close process. Position will garner valuable experience by interacting with and supporting other finance areas such as tax, treasury, FP&A and the year-end audit. Interacts and coordinates with plant, IT and other corporate departments.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day accounting for Latin American international entities, as assigned, including journal entries, month-end close, general ledger maintenance on US GAAP and statutory basis
  • Prepare assigned balance sheet account reconciliations and analyses
  • Maintain global lease and purchase commitments schedules on quarterly basis
  • Fulfill audit requests as assigned related to annual consolidated (US) and appliable statutory (foreign) audits
  • Support financial reporting through preparation of various schedules as assigned
  • Upload daily bank transactions for global bank accounts into SAP, addressing any upload exceptions/issues
  • Apply customer remittances and miscellaneous other cash receipts
  • Balance, reconcile, validate all intercompany balance sheet accounts
  • Compute and post monthly intercompany interest
  • Prepare monthly intercompany invoices for transfer pricing adjustments and other charges between related entities
  • Resolve intercompany invoicing issues
  • Coordinate with treasury on settlement of intercompany receivables and payables
  • Act as back-up to running of foreign exchange translation and revaluation programs during close process
  • Prepare foreign exchange proofs in local and reporting (USD) currencies; investigate and resolve discrepancies
  • Review month-end auto-uploaded foreign exchange rates
  • Provide income tax provision and income tax return support including maintenance of income tax general ledger account schedule
  • Support VAT (consumption) tax return preparation of various foreign entities and reconciliation of VAT return to general ledger; monthly netting of VAT balance sheet accounts by jurisdiction
  • Assist in controls and process improvement implementation
  • Assist with special projects and research projects
  • Partners with Center of Excellence in solving and continuously improving use of SAP system

Job Requirements

  • 2-5 years of applicable accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Knowledge of US GAAP
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to think and work independently; self-motivated problem solver
  • Ability to work in environment with shifting priorities
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Good organization, analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills

Job Preferences

  • CPA
  • Public accounting audit experience
  • Worked in manufacturing industry and/or corporate environment
  • Understanding of foreign currency translation and remeasurement
  • Knowledge of international accounting
  • SAP experience
