Primary Functions:

  • Leads and directs the Accounting and AP staff. Establishes and maintains the organization's overall accounting systems, procedures and policies. Responsible for analysis and generation of financial statements, required filings / reports and ensuring an effective control environment.
  • Responsible for management of internal controls, annual financial audit and other interim audits as scheduled.
  • Supports carrying out the responsibilities related to ensuring the accuracy of our costing system and inventory valuation. 
  • Completes Federal and State tax reporting requirements (including income, property, sales and use, and other reports) required by government regulation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing all finance and accounting tasks including, but not limited to month-end / quarter-end / year-end closing process, financial statement preparation, preparation and review of all journal entries, management of all internal reports, analysis of costs impacting margins and review of monthly account reconciliations. 
  • Ensure integrity and accuracy of all entries impacting the financial statements
  • Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements including account reconciliations
  • Support cost accounting initiatives and processes such as excess and obsolete reporting, data analysis, standard cost updates, and inventory records.
  • Manage cash flow including analysis and recommending opportunities for improvement
  • Coordinate and manage activities of external auditors
  • Assess, develop, document, and maintain accounting business processes.  Identify opportunities for improvement and implement as needed.
  • Safeguard company assets through evaluating and improving accounting and internal control systems and processes as needed
  • Oversee and manage regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance.  Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements, including tax filings, W9’s and exempt certificates. Work with external tax consultants, as required.
  • Assist with the preparation of budget and financial forecasts and reporting of variances as needed
  • Provide leadership and performance oversight of the financial team in the completion of all daily, weekly, and monthly responsibilities.
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis of various types


Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Motivate, coach and develop direct reports, creating a continuous learning environment.
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and effectiveness of financial records and internal controls, including adherence to company accounting policies
  • Assist in projects or other duties as assigned.

 

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience, CPA preferred
  • 7-10 years of Accounting experience, including management experience, required.
  • Advanced knowledge of generally accepted accounting principals (GAAP), practices and methods of accounting, finance and auditing, and financial reporting 
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.
  • Experience working with a mid-tier integrated ERP system, experience in back-end functionality preferred.

  • Proven ability to work well in a deadline-driven, fast-paced, team environment.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement process improvements.
  • Ability to problem solve quickly, deal with stressful interactions, and build solid relationships.
