We are actively recruiting an Assistant Controller responsible for the oversight of internal and external financial reporting for the corporation and its affiliates. The position will require as understanding of SEC reporting requirements and new and existing accounting pronouncements.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Controller

  • Ensure adherence to key accounting controls within the structure of the financial reporting process, including compliance to formal accounting policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate accounting controls within the framework of Sarbanes Oxley 404 and recommend improvements to existing accounting policies and procedures.
  • Review/prepare SEC filings including 10-Q's, 10-K's, and 8-K's in accordance with GAAP and SEC requirements.
  • Review internal financials for reasonability and accuracy.
  • Conduct research and prepare associated memos for new and existing accounting standards as they apply to current or proposed transactions or processes using available research sources and on-line technology as available for FASB, SEC and other accounting pronouncements.
  • Prepare proforma financial statements and related financial data for 33 Act filings for acquisitions and capital raising.
  • Ability to develop and support internal controls and Section 404 SOX documentation and risk related assessments.
  • Calculate the Fair Value of annual stock-based compensation awarded to Directors and Employees.
  • Review the annual Goodwill Impairment analysis.

Requirements of the Assistant Controller

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
  • CPA highly preferred
  • 10+ years of experience
  • Prior leadership experience responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of a staff of 10+ direct and indirect reports
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, be detail oriented, and quality and precision focused
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
