MUST HAVE:

  • 4-year degree in Accounting or Finance
  • At least one (preferably two) years of accounting experience with exposure to multiple areas of Accounting (GL, A/R, A/P, Fixed Assets, Month-End Closings, Journal Entries, Reconciliations, etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Openness to change and process improvement

STRONGLY PREFERRED:

  • Experience at a ‘Big 4’ firm (or other public accounting firm)
  • CPA obtained or already in an active CPA testing process (expected completion in less than 12 months)

JOB DESCRIPTION

About the Position:

We are looking for a Staff Accountant with a service-minded work ethic to support our corporate Accounting team. This individual will be responsible for a wide range of accounting tasks, provide key financial reporting support, and participate in related projects. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager at the corporate office, this is a highly visible and essential role within the organization.

What You'll Do:

  • Serve as a liaison between Company’s sectors/business units and corporate accounting
  • Support the monthly close process including account reconciliations and journal entries
  • Ensure compliance with Company cash accounting policies and internal controls
  • Record all cash and investment activity journal entries
  • Assist with accounting and financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Assist with quarterly financial reporting and supplemental schedules
  • Help to ensure compliance with internal controls and policies
  • Account for the Company 401K Plan
  • Ad-hoc reporting and analysis
  • Special projects and process automation at the direction of the Accounting Manager

What You'll Bring to the Role:

  • BS degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA or CPA eligibility preferred
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience
  • Microsoft Office including strong Excel skills, comfortable learning new technology
  • Sage X3, Hyperion and/or Alteryx experience a plus
  • Proven knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • A “roll up your sleeves” attitude and willingness to do the day-to-day work
  • Highly effective communication skills both written and verbal
  • Passion for collaboration, learning, and process improvements
