Our client in the SW suburbs of Chicago is seeking a contract or contract-to-hire Accounts Payable Specialist for their team.  

SUMMARY: The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, payment processing, facility pays, AP entry, preparation of 1099s, assist with month end close, fixed asset reconciliations, analyzing trends, costs, and obligations incurred. The ideal candidate has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. The Accounts Payable Coordinator will be able to assist with ad-hoc items or projects as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepare and gather data to process all vendor related activities (i.e, vendor invoices, purchase orders, facility payments, location payments, etc.)
• Assist in accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end closes
• Assist with invoice data entry, AP, Customer Vendor Relations, processing check disbursements, prepare 1099s and tax related matters for ERP systems
• Comply with procedures and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company policies.
• Assist with preparing and gathering support for government and external accountants/auditors to meet information needs
• Assist in year-end tax and audit work
• Review employee expense reports and assist with processing payments accordingly
• Assist with adding new location vendor files in AP system
• Ad-hoc projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• 4+ years of Accounting experience &/or Accounts payable
• Experience in ERP system (preferably Microsoft GP Dynamics and NetSuite)
• Advanced Excel skills
• Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence
