Senior Technical Accountant

 

WAYS YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE:
The Senior Technical Accountant, SEC Reporting will play a critical role in reviewing and documenting technical accounting issues, including business combinations, revenue recognition, capitalized software, stock-based compensation, financial instruments, leases and other technical areas. As necessary, this individual will also be responsible for preparing the Company’s quarterly and annual financial statement reports and ensuring the reports are compliant with US GAAP and SEC Reporting rules.

You will also contribute by:

  • Compile US GAAP financial statements on a quarterly and annual basis, including footnotes, MD&A, auditable support and analysis in accordance with US GAAP and SEC regulations
  • Compiling and preparing quarterly reports (10-Q), annual reports (10-K) and current reports (8-K) with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
  • Performing GAAP research to assist in the review and documentation of technical accounting issues
  • Monitoring the development of emerging accounting and reporting rules being deliberated by the SEC, FASB or other standard-setting body
  • Assisting with interpretation and implementation of new regulatory and reporting standards and amendments, and providing post-implementation support and training
  • Supporting the Accounting Manager and Assistant Controller during the month-end close process and external audits
  • Assisting with the establishment, documentation and maintenance of accounting policies
  • Partnering with FP&A to assist with forecast development
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable internal controls standards related to area of responsibility

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • Strong technical accounting background with a thorough knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting standards and SOX
  • 5+ years of experience in auditing and/or SEC/technical accounting, with at least 2 years in a financial reporting role
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related finance degree
  • CPA License
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interact and build relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Meticulous and superior attention to detail
  • Well versed in external reporting software solutions

  • Experience working with NetSuite, Vena and Intelligize
  • Experience working with SaaS/Software companies is preferred
