The Job
The Enterprise Architect will evaluate current architectural state, propose necessary and impactful modifications and identify and roadmap desired future state.
 
Reporting to the VP of Information Technology, the Enterprise Architect will make recommendations and
decisions with business outcomes as top priority, and provide business cases built with clear cost-benefit
beyond IT Department. A successful candidate will bring passion, innovation, and technical discipline to
the IT team.
 
What you’ll do
  • Responsible for development and ongoing management of system and application architecture roadmap
  • Establishment of planned obsolescence program
  • Identification, assessment and, as appropriate, adoption of emerging technologies
  • Establishment of architectural review process embedded within project lifecycle and annualplanning cycle
  • Develop and foster trusted technical advisor relationships with influential technical decision            makers
  • Drive and collaborate with IT teams to establish roadmaps and future states for their domains
  • Identify areas of strategic technical debt, do the cost-benefit analysis for resolving this debt and integrate into roadmaps
  • Track and apply innovative and existing technologies, anchoring them in the business model to assess their potential, and use rapid prototyping approaches to evolve innovations
  • Facilitate the evolution of an architecture program to guide architecture decision making
  • Serve as mentor within IT architecture community and promote best-practices and industry knowledge within its ranks
  • Analyze business and technical requirements to determine system design requirements, identify potential issues, and perform cost analysis related to each project
  • Strategically analyze the risks, benefits, and opportunities associated with a proposed design or solution
  • Effectively estimate time required for technical efforts for projects of all sizes
  • Assist in forecasting technology implementation budgets
  • Provide input in the overall design of production, staging, QA and development infrastructures running in a 24×7 environment
  • Produce architecture and design documents to effectively hand over to engineering teams for
  • successful implementation
  • Serve as the cross-platform technical subject matter expert and provide consulting support to other engineering teams
  • Establish standards and repeatable processes for managing change across environments, taking advantage of innovative cloud technologies, DevOps tools and practices
  • Develop tools and strategies for networking, monitoring, and automating infrastructure tosupport both non-prod and production environments
  • Make recommendations for enhancements and modifications to improve enterprise system scalability, efficiency, and reliability
 
What you will need to succeed
  • 10+ years of architecture, design, and implementation experience with large-scale, highlyavailable, complex systems
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of organization
  • Experience in influencing the definition, selection, and implementation of tools, technologies,and processes for large-scale projects
  • Experience with cloud computing architecture (Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform)for both SaaS and PaaS models
  • Demonstrated ability to design security infrastructure, applications, networks, systems and equipment that impact multiple environments across all of IT
  • Proven experience designing modifications to existing systems, designing reusable components,and elimination of redundancy in designs throughout IT Systems
  • Experience with building enterprise-class systems with consideration to stability, redundancy,and security practices
  • Technical degree required; Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
  • Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethicsand integrity
