Director of Financial Systems

This position is responsible for operations of all current financial reporting applications as well as strategic direction of this function as the Director partners with the users and collaborates with IT to evaluate, enhance and deliver financial reporting solutions.  This role establishes, drives and enforces the overall financial systems strategy and standards which include, but are not limited to, an ERP upgrade.

Job Description:

  • Defines and develops the global financial systems strategy
  • Leads a global team on the implementation of the new global financial systems
  • Identifies opportunities to link existing technologies and systems to improve reporting and analyses
  • Partners with Finance and IT on financial systems strategy and executes on a global basis
  • Leads the development of proposal requests to external service providers
  • Evaluates and recommends service providers and technology platforms to achieve the strategy
  • Creates business concepts, redesign of processes and information systems as well as hands on project management and coordination of implementations as a business driver
  • Partners closely with the project management office to ensure projects are tested, S-Ox compliant and delivered on-time, with quality
  • Creates best practices and business processes 
  • Performs research; delivers proposals and ROI analysis on systems solutions
  • Manages and maintains systems while ensuring both S-Ox compliance and 

Qualifications & Job Requirements

  • BS or graduate degree in MIS or Accounting / Finance
  • Prior oversight and experience with large financial systems implementations
  • Minimum 10 years of experience supporting and implementing various enterprise applications
  • Cognos, Tablaeu, Oracle, Navision ERP, and Hyperion EPM preferred
  • Knowledge of information system’s architectures and technology management practices
  • In-depth understanding of financial planning and forecasting processes 
  • Ability to identify and articulate quality standards and processes to technology teams and other business leaders
