Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst – SEC Reporting

Accounting Research:

-        Conduct extensive research on various technical accounting issues for potential transactions that the Company is considering, in order to ensure compliance with GAAP, compile, interpret and communicate findings (both verbally and in writing), and determine the appropriate accounting methodology and disclosure requirements

-        Remain current on accounting trends, techniques, policy and standard changes and SEC requirements through continuing professional education


Quarterly Earnings Release and SEC Filings:

-        Prepare financial statement and disclosures for 10-Q and 10-K filings with SEC and be responsible for complete support package to numbers in the filings including completion of the GAAP checklist and other applicable disclosure checklists

-        Assist team with preparation of quarterly earnings release, conference call slide presentation, and conference call scripts along with portions of detailed Question and Answer preparation document for the earnings call

-        Participate in process for filing 8-Ks with SEC

-        Work with external vendor to coordinate Edgarization of 8-K, 10-Q and 10-K filings

-        Manage process to review XBRL tagging with external vendor for quarterly 10-Q and 10-K filings

-        Assume role of team lead for several Sarbanes Oxley processes, including Financial Statement Review and Disclosure and Consolidations, and coordinate testing and review for those processes

-        Coordinate the year-end audit and quarterly reviews with external auditors.  This includes: working closely with the external auditor’s partner and senior manager on technical accounting issues and disclosure requirements; assisting in the preparation of the quarterly Prepared by Client (PBC) list with the external auditors; managing the interim PBCs due throughout the year; working with the Accounting/Finance team to obtain all of these schedules for the auditors as needed

-        Manage the balance sheet reconciliation process with Administrative Assistant to ensure all reconciliations are completed and turned in as applicable on a quarterly basis


Monthly Close Activities (Journal Entries and Reporting):

-        Manage monthly close calendar and close process to ensure that reports can be run on workday 4 with a potential follow up report on workday 5 and/or 6 as needed (quarterly close may have multiple iterations beyond this)

-        Prepare internal management financial reports on 4th workday and subsequent workdays, as needed, with documented detailed analysis provided to senior management and used for final review of results

-        Work with others on team to develop SAP reports to address these analytical and reporting needs

-        Provide all levels of management including executive leadership, Chief Accounting Officer and Chief Financial Officer with insights into business results and accounting methodology

-        Provide regular communication to internal and external customers

-        Coordinate pre-close preparation calls and monthly close calls with each business unit and monitor key areas to be addressed as a result of the discussions held in these calls

-        Responsible for various monthly close activities including accounting of stock based compensation and external dividends

-        Reconcile the equity compensation (stock option, restricted share and restricted share units) payroll tax to the general ledger from a detailed listing of all activity during the quarter/year

-        Work with Treasury to reconcile treasury stock accounting pool to outstanding treasury shares tracked by Treasury

-        Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-to-date weighted diluted average shares outstanding (ASO) calculations for determination of appropriate period’s ASO

-        Reconcile all equity accounts including treasury stock, additional paid in capital accounts, other comprehensive income accounts and retained earnings



-        Audit quarterly deferred directors fees and directors fees schedule prepared by Legal for use in journal entry and in preparation for payment of board members’ fees

-        Assist with the budgeting / forecasting processes as needed including preparation of the stock based compensation expense forecast / budget for delivery to Corporate FP&A and other BU Finance teams

-        Provide accounting and technical training to other staff members

-        Understands and demonstrates Company’s Core Values.

-        Performs other duties as assigned.


Skills/Knowledge Required:

-        Strong technical accounting skills (including FASB, SEC and PCAOB)

-        Intermediate skills related to SAP FI general ledger module and Oracle financial systems and reporting tools

-        Basic skills with equity compensation software (i.e. Solium Transcentive, EASi, Equity Edge) preferred

-        Strong skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)

-        Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data to various levels of staff

-        Advanced skills in project management and problem solving

-        Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

-        Ability to interact with executive leadership throughout the business including the Company’s Chief Accounting Officer and Chief Financial Officer

-        Excellent interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills

-        Ability to prioritize, multi-task and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced environment

-        Willingness to take on additional responsibility and learn new skills

-        Excellent documentation skills to be used in developing audit work papers and completing SOX reviews


Education and Experience:

-        Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline required

-        4 - 8 years of related experience as an accountant

-        CPA, required

-        Prior public accounting experience required

-        MBA, a plus
