Accounting Manager
Our client  - a rapidly growing healthcare media firm in the loop is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, resourceful and collaborative accounting professional for a new Accounting Manager role at the company.


The Accounting Manager will report to the CFO, oversee all general accounting work (focusing on revenue recognition), and will perform some Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) work. The role is a great opportunity to see the entire financial operation in a newly formed Finance team, at a growing & vibrant company, serving an important industry.

Job Functions:
• Manages all general accounting activities, including month and year-end close, chart of accounts, etc.
• Ensures complete and accurate financial records, compliant with GAAP and with insight to business performance
• Performs all revenue recognition work, and evaluates opportunities to improve and enhance this area
• Manages accrual, prepaid, bank reconciliation, journal entry, and other recurring monthly work
• Serves as point person for year-end audit work, managing the process with the outside auditors and team
• Works with colleagues and the outsourced accounts payable function to process accounts payable
• Collaborates with the billing & collections accounting manager on accounts receivable and revenue matters
• Partners with the outsourced payroll & benefits function to ensure timely and accurate payments & enrollment
• Assists with monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc reporting for the Board, lender, and private equity sponsor
• Works with colleagues to track and manage key expense areas, including costs for conferences
• Develops and maintains accounting policies and procedures
• Participates in FP&A work (~10% of role), including annual plans, quarterly forecasts, and special projects


Education, Experience, and Other Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
• CPA certification required
• 5-8 years of experience in accounting, preferably in public accounting, with increasing levels of responsibility
• Highly detail-oriented, able to see patterns in data and to form conclusions and insights
• Resourceful, willing and eager to roll up sleeves and dig into work, able to identify and implement solutions 
• Able to simplify complex topics and to communicate them clearly
• Able to organize information, prioritize, and to deliver on time with high quality
• Possesses the highest degree of integrity and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality
• Has a positive attitude and works collaboratively
